Nordplus Higher Education program

NOBA -HealthPRO

The NOBA-HEALTHPRO network has been active for several years with partners from Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. The partnership will promote regional collaboration and develop student and teacher exchange between six partner institutions in the field of health care education.

In Nordic and Baltic countries there work about 400 thousand nurses who, being the main part of healthcare specialists, have a big potential to influence the improvement of human healthcare. Nursing study programmes in higher schools that participate in NOBA-HEALTHPRO network train nursing specialists that are able to organize and provide nursing services to people, families and communities in all levels of personal healthcare institutions, but community nurses often feel the lack of leadership skills in professional activities.

Taking into consideration the situation, network activities between Nordic and Baltic states provide an excellent opportunity to fill the gap through shared learning, clinical placements and teacher exchange.

The aim of the project is to promote regional collaboration through shared learning in community nursing care and to strengthen the student and teacher mobility between six partner institutions in the field of nursing education. Specific aim of the project is to train Nordic and Baltic countries future community nurses’ leadership skills in intercultural environment intercepting the best practice of each institution. More and more important role has recently been given to a community nurse
