Nordplus NORLYS project activities

Between 19/08/2019 and 21/08/2019 Ms Ieva Voita, a lecturer at Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia, and Ms Renāte Rumaka, an Erasmus coordinator, attended the Nordplus NORLYS project meeting at Novia University of Applied Sciences in the Finnish city of Vaasa.

During the meeting participants evaluated the mobility flows and intensive courses that took place in the academic year 2018/2019 in Mikkeli, Finland. The previous course was a success both in academic outcomes and management, which showed in participating student survey. The network of universities has agreed that the next intensive courses will be organized during the spring semester of academic year 2019/2020 at Oslo Metropolitan University, Norway. The application for participation will be open to students already at the beginning of the academic year 2019/2020. The theme of the intensive week is Mental health of young labour immigrants. Students will receive 3 ECTS for successful completion of the course.

Within the framework of the Nordplus NORLYS project, students have access to internships at partner universities as well as to intensive courses. Academic staff, in turn, has access to teaching mobility.

Nordplus NORLYS network is an academic alliance of 11 Scandinavian and Baltic universities, dating back to 1993.
