Nordplus programme NordPCC network news

We are pleased to announce that the Nordplus NordPCC network has been awarded second renewal of project activities and will strive to implement high-quality cooperation actions despite the difficulties caused by the spread of covid-19. The project partners have developed contents for intensive course Patient centred care in multicultural society and its ethical implications that will give students the opportunity to participate at intensive week in spring 2021 and obtain 3 ECTS in their academic records.

The first intensive course was planned on March 2020 in Kaunas (Lithuania), but the event was cancelled due to the continuous threat posed by the covid-19, and following the official recommendations of government.

The NordPCC network has kept operating in these challenging times, with project teachers meeting and working online. 2020/2021 is expected to be a productive academic year, with following milestones set forth during the online conference:

• Face-to-face IP in RIGA, on March 8-12, 2021. If traveling will be impossible, the network teachers will deliver online course for 3 ECTS
• Face-to-face IP at the University College Copenhagen (Denmark) is scheduled for September 13-17, 2021.

In order to maximise the learning outcomes, students will be given pre-assignment in one of the following topics:

• End of life
• Cancer patient
• Socially excluded persons
• Home care
• Elderly care
• Health habits

Teachers will coach students to strengthen the knowledge and understanding of the concept of PCC in multicultural society as well as its implementation potentials. The intensive course will promote academic co-operation among all six partner universities, facilitating PCC education, highlighting trends around the world that have made patient experience a key component of the healthcare system.
