Nordsam network meeting

The Nordsam Network was established in 1993. The Network is cooperation between the Nursing study programs in Nordic and Baltic region. For 6 years the Novia University of Applied Sciences has successfully held the responsibility of the network coordinator-ship.

The Network promotes student and teacher mobility, curriculum development and Intensive courses. Development of new intensive course was the key motive for teacher and coordinator meeting at Paņevežys Kolegija/University of Applied Sciences in Lithuania, which took place on November 19-20, 2020. Network teachers and coordinators developed a framework for new course “Digital Possibilities and Challenges for Health of Young People”, which is in focus of Nordplus highlights within the field of education and training.

Being in line with new guidelines of “Digital competences and computational thinking: preparing children, young people and adults for a digitalized society”, Nordplus Nordsam network will direct its intensive courses in such relevant topics as Digital literacy, patient data protection and cyber-safety in health care.

The new course will strengthen the cooperation, knowledge development and disseminate new innovative pedagogical approaches for students and teachers at the participating Nordic and Baltic Institutions. The students will develop their collaboration skills, professional knowledge and understanding of processes in healthy communities.

The Nordsam also offers mobility for students and teachers within the network, thus promoting insight into the goals and challenges facing our health services, nursing educations and the role of the professional nurse.
