Our students succeed in the Nordic massage championship

On September 29 and 30 the Nordic Massage Championship was held at the P. Stradins Medical College of the University of Latvia. The students of Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia also gained new experience and positive emotions there.

From our colleg, 2nd year students Arta Malahovska, Uldis Riekstiņš and Mārtiņš Lauva, a graduate and teacher of our college, took part in the championship.

The participants took part in two disciplines – classic massage and free choice massage. The students were noticed and appreciated: Arta Malahovska won the nomination “Most attractive masseur”, Uldis Riekstiņš won the “Hotel Jūrmala SPA” sympathy award, while Mārtiņš Lauva won the 3rd place in the classic massage and the 2nd place in the free choice massage.

Students and lecturers were personally supported by Diāna Dzepukas, head of the study program “Massage and hydrotherapy”, lecturer Laila Caune and Sarmīte Villere, deputy director of the Riga Medical College. Among the participants of the championship, it was a pleasure to see Evija Freiberga, a graduate of our college.
