Riga Medical College ‘International Week’

From April 23 to April 25, Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia hosted ‘International Week’, which was significant with the opening of the 1st International Student Conference “Make Health Happen” and the EU-funded “Simulation Pedagogy in Learning Ethics in Practice in Health Care” (SimE) simulations.

Representatives from several member states – Iceland, Finland, Romania, Spain, Belgium, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Greece and Latvia participated in the International Week of Riga Medical College.

“Simulation Pedagogy in Learning Ethics in Practice in Health Care” (SimE) simulations and analysis was conducted May 23. The simulation was led by experienced lecturers from Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland – Teija Franck and Kati Kulju.

Continuing its orientation on the development of innovation and science in the international environment, Riga Medical College organized the 1st International Student Scientific Conference “Make Health Happen” on April 24. During the conference, lectures were given by professionals in the medical sector – Professor Teija Franck from Finland, Milan Chang Gudjonsson from Iceland and Aija Klavina from Latvia.

‘International Week’ is held several times per year at the College and aims to improve knowledge and skills of medical students in the healthcare sector, improve international relations, and share past experience at the international level.
