Visit of Erasmus+ Lithuanian partners

Due to the current global trends, face-to-face Erasmus+ activities in 2020/2021 academic year have become an exclusive action. On September 16-17, just before the cumulative indicator of Covid-19 in Lithuania rose above safe travel rates, Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia hosted two brilliant lecturers from Šiauliai State College.  It was our pleasure to welcome teachers from the Health Care Faculty/ Biomedical Science Department – Mrs. Vitalija Gerikiene and Mrs. Vilija Vaikasiene for short, but effective visit. Abiding health and safety requirements, Lithuanian colleagues visited Emergency Medicine Simulation Lab, Massage and Hydrotherapy practical training classes and Nursing Simulation Lab, discussed current academic trends in Health Care education and challenges induced by the spread of Covid-19: advantages and disadvantages of online teaching and clinical training accessibility in current epidemiological situation.

Another important mutual cooperation aspect is the upcoming 3rd International Scientific Conference SALUS. SOCIETAS. SCIENTIA, which will be hosted online by Šiauliai State College on October 22, 2020. The Director of Riga Medical College of the University of Latvia, Mr. Aksels Roshofs and Deputy Director Mrs. Sarmīte Villere will participate in Plenary Session, while Head of Nursing Department Mrs. Linda Alondere has been invited to participate in Scientific Committee.
